Patients Registries
All our patients with myositis are invited to join the University of Chicago Myositis Registry to help our investigators to advance the field of myositis research and collaborate with national and international initiatives aimed at improving our understanding of the causes and different manifestations of myositis. Patients with myositis with associated interstitial lung disease are also invited to participate in the University of Chicago Interstitial Lung Disease Registry.
Clinical Trials
Collaborations
The Myositis Center at the University of Chicago Medicine is a partner of the Myositis Clinical Trial Network (MyoConnect), a collaboration of over 30 centers in the United States and Canada devoted to the development of clinical trials that will help us identify more effective and safer treatment options to patients with myositis. Our center is also a collaborator of the American College of Rheumatology and European League Against Rheumatism CLASS project (Classification Criteria of Anti-Synthetase Syndrome), an international alliance that has the objective to define criteria of antisynthetase syndrome.
We also have several projects alongside The Myositis Association, aimed at improving patient’s access to rehabilitation and physical therapy, and delivering better care to Women of Color with myositis:
- Women of color are disproportionally affected by myositis diseases brochure
- Dermatomyositis Rashes in Patients of Color
